Sibylla of Jerusalem
Sibylla of Jerusalem was a queen consort of the Kingdom of Jerusalem in the late 12th century. She was born around 1160 and was the daughter of King Amalric I of Jerusalem and Agnes of Courtenay. Sibylla became queen after the death of her brother, Baldwin IV, who had suffered from leprosy, and she was married to Guy of Lusignan, a controversial figure in the kingdom.
Sibylla's reign was marked by political turmoil and military challenges, particularly during the Saladin campaigns. After the disastrous Battle of Hattin in 1187, where the Crusader forces were defeated, she lost her crown. Despite her struggles, Sibylla remains a significant figure in the history of the Crusader states.
