Conrad of Montferrat
Conrad of Montferrat was a nobleman from the late 12th century, known for his role in the Crusades. Born around 1140, he was the son of Count William IV of Montferrat and became a prominent figure in the struggle for control of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
In 1192, Conrad was elected king but faced opposition from Richard the Lionheart and other leaders. His reign was short-lived, as he was assassinated in 1192, likely due to political rivalries. His death marked a significant moment in the history of the Crusader states and the ongoing conflicts in the region.
