Battle of Hattin
The Battle of Hattin took place on July 4, 1187, during the Crusades. It was fought between the forces of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, led by King Guy of Lusignan, and the Muslim army commanded by Saladin. The battle was significant as it marked a turning point in the struggle for control over the Holy Land.
The Muslim forces achieved a decisive victory, capturing many knights and soldiers. This defeat weakened the Crusader states and led to the recapture of Jerusalem by Saladin later that year. The battle is often seen as a pivotal moment in the history of the Crusades.
