Guy of Lusignan
Guy of Lusignan was a French nobleman born around 1150. He became the King of Jerusalem after marrying Sybil of Jerusalem, the sister of the previous king. His reign was marked by conflicts with Muslim forces, particularly during the Crusades.
In 1187, Guy faced a significant defeat at the Battle of Hattin against Saladin, the Muslim leader. This loss led to the capture of Jerusalem, which had a profound impact on the Christian presence in the region. Despite his challenges, Guy remained a notable figure in the history of the Crusades and the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem.
