Hauora model
The Hauora model is a holistic framework for understanding health and well-being, originating from the Māori culture of New Zealand. It encompasses four dimensions: Taha Tinana (physical health), Taha Hinengaro (mental health), Taha Whānau (family health), and Taha Wairua (spiritual health). Each dimension is interconnected, emphasizing that overall well-being requires balance among all aspects of life.
This model is often used in health education and community programs to promote a comprehensive approach to health. By recognizing the importance of social, emotional, and spiritual factors alongside physical health, the Hauora model encourages individuals and communities to pursue a more integrated and supportive lifestyle.
