Taha Wairua
Taha Wairua refers to the spiritual dimension of a person in Māori culture. It emphasizes the importance of spirituality in overall well-being and personal identity. This aspect of self connects individuals to their ancestors, the environment, and the wider universe, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
In the context of the Māori worldview, Taha Wairua is one of the four dimensions of well-being, alongside Taha Tinana (physical), Taha Hinengaro (mental), and Taha Whānau (social). Together, these dimensions create a holistic understanding of health and wellness, highlighting the interconnectedness of body, mind, spirit, and community.
