Ραμσής (Pharaoh)
Ραμσής, commonly known as Ramses II, was one of the most powerful and celebrated pharaohs of ancient Egypt. He ruled during the Nineteenth Dynasty from 1279 to 1213 BCE. His reign is marked by extensive building projects, including the famous Abu Simbel temples, and he is often referred to as Ramses the Great due to his military achievements and long rule.
Ramses II is also known for signing the first recorded peace treaty in history with the Hittites after the Battle of Kadesh. His legacy includes numerous monuments and statues, which reflect the grandeur of his reign and the importance of the pharaoh in ancient Egyptian society.
