Western Liang
Western Liang was a historical state in ancient China that existed during the period of the Sixteen Kingdoms, specifically from 400 to 421 AD. It was located in the northwestern region of China, primarily in what is now Gansu and parts of Ningxia. The state was founded by the Xiongnu leader Yuan Zun and was known for its diverse population and cultural exchanges.
The capital of Western Liang was Jincheng, which served as a political and economic center. The state played a significant role in the power struggles of the time, often interacting with neighboring states like Northern Wei and Eastern Jin. Despite its relatively short existence, Western Liang contributed to the complex tapestry of Chinese history during the era.
