Eastern Jin
The Eastern Jin (317–420 AD) was a Chinese dynasty that emerged after the fall of the Western Jin. It was established by the Sima family, who fled to the south during the turmoil of the Sixteen Kingdoms period. The capital was located in Nanjing, which became a cultural and political center during this time.
The Eastern Jin is known for its relative stability compared to the chaotic northern regions. It fostered advancements in literature, art, and philosophy, with notable figures like the poet Tao Yuanming. The dynasty eventually fell due to internal strife and external pressures, leading to the rise of the Liu Song dynasty.
