Vegetation of India
India's vegetation is diverse, influenced by its varied climate, topography, and soil types. The country features several types of vegetation, including tropical rainforests in the Western Ghats and Northeast India, deciduous forests in the central regions, and thorny scrub in the arid Thar Desert.
In addition to forests, India has extensive grasslands, particularly in the Gangetic plains and Deccan plateau. The Himalayan region hosts alpine vegetation, while coastal areas feature mangroves. This rich variety supports numerous species of flora and fauna, making India one of the world's biodiversity hotspots.
