Queen Emma of the Netherlands
Queen Emma of the Netherlands was born on August 2, 1858, in Amsterdam. She was the daughter of King William III and became queen consort when she married him in 1879. Emma played a significant role in Dutch society, especially during her husband's reign, which was marked by political challenges.
After the death of King William III in 1890, Emma served as regent for her daughter, Queen Wilhelmina, until she came of age. Queen Emma was known for her dedication to social causes and her efforts to improve the welfare of the Dutch people. She passed away on March 20, 1934.
