Princess Maria Theresa of Bourbon was born on July 7, 1756, in Madrid, Spain. She was a member of the House of Bourbon, a prominent royal family in Europe. Maria Theresa was the daughter of King Charles III of Spain and Maria Amalia of Saxony. In 1775, she married Duke Leopold of Tuscany, who later became Grand Duke of Tuscany. Their union strengthened ties between the Spanish and Tuscan royal families. Maria Theresa played a significant role in the cultural and political life of Tuscany during her time as Grand Duchess until her death in 1805.
