Palestinian refugees
Palestinian refugees are individuals who were displaced from their homes during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and subsequent conflicts. Many fled to neighboring countries, such as Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, while others remained in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) was established to provide assistance and support to these refugees.
Today, millions of Palestinians are recognized as refugees, with their descendants also included in this status. They often face challenges related to housing, employment, and access to education and healthcare. The situation remains a significant aspect of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
