King of the French
The title "King of the French" was used by Louis-Philippe I, who ruled from 1830 to 1848. This title was adopted after the July Revolution of 1830, which led to the overthrow of the Bourbon monarchy. Unlike traditional monarchs, Louis-Philippe aimed to represent the French people rather than a divine right to rule.
The reign of Louis-Philippe is often referred to as the July Monarchy. It was characterized by a constitutional monarchy that emphasized the interests of the bourgeoisie. However, his government faced criticism for its elitism and was ultimately overthrown during the February Revolution of 1848, leading to the establishment of the Second Republic.
