July Monarchy
The July Monarchy refers to the period of French history from 1830 to 1848, characterized by the rule of King Louis-Philippe I. It began after the July Revolution, which overthrew the Bourbon monarchy of Charles X. The new regime was established as a constitutional monarchy, promoting the interests of the bourgeoisie and emphasizing liberal policies.
During the July Monarchy, France experienced economic growth and social change, but it also faced political unrest and dissatisfaction among the working class. The monarchy ultimately ended with the February Revolution of 1848, leading to the establishment of the Second Republic.
