Herod's Family
Herod's family, known as the Herodian dynasty, ruled parts of Judea during the time of the Roman Empire. The most famous member, Herod the Great, was known for his ambitious building projects, including the expansion of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. He ruled from 37 BCE until his death in 4 BCE and was known for his complex family dynamics and political alliances.
Herod had several wives and children, leading to a complicated lineage. His sons, such as Archelaus, Herod Antipas, and Herod Philip, each governed different regions after his death. The family's legacy is marked by both their political influence and the tumultuous relationships among its members.
