Archelaus
Archelaus was a ruler of the ancient region of Judea during the time of the Roman Empire. He was the son of Herod the Great and became ethnarch after his father's death in 4 BCE. His reign was marked by political instability and conflict, leading to his eventual deposition by the Romans in 6 CE.
After his removal, Judea was placed under direct Roman control, transitioning from a client kingdom to a province. Archelaus's rule is often remembered for its challenges, including tensions between different cultural and religious groups in the region.
