반찬
"반찬" refers to the various side dishes served with a main meal in Korean cuisine. These dishes can include vegetables, meats, and seafood, and are typically served in small portions. They are meant to complement the main dish, often rice, and add flavor and variety to the meal.
In a traditional Korean meal, multiple 반찬 are presented at once, allowing diners to enjoy a range of tastes and textures. Common examples of 반찬 include 김치 (fermented vegetables), 잡채 (stir-fried glass noodles), and 계란찜 (steamed egg). These side dishes are an essential part of Korean dining culture.
