The white rhinoceros is one of the largest species of rhinoceros, native to Africa. It has a broad mouth designed for grazing on grass and can weigh up to 2,300 kilograms (5,000 pounds). There are two subspecies: the Southern white rhinoceros and the critically endangered Northern white rhinoceros. White rhinos are social animals, often found in groups called crashes.
