William Keith, 7th Earl Marischal
William Keith, 7th Earl Marischal (c. 1690–1778) was a Scottish nobleman known for his role in the {Jacobite} uprisings. He was a prominent supporter of the {Jacobite cause}, which sought to restore the {Stuart} monarchy to the British throne. His loyalty to the Jacobite movement led him to fight in the {Battle of Culloden} in 1746.
After the defeat of the Jacobites, Keith faced significant challenges. He fled to {France}, where he continued to support the Jacobite cause from abroad. Despite his exile, he remained an influential figure among Scottish exiles and was involved in various political and military efforts to restore the Stuart line.
