Earl Marischal
Earl Marischal was a title in the Scottish nobility, historically associated with the Marischal family. The title was created in the 15th century and held significant power and influence in Scotland, particularly in the northeast region. The Earl Marischal was responsible for overseeing the royal household and had a role in the Scottish Parliament.
The most notable holder of the title was George Keith, 5th Earl Marischal, who was a prominent supporter of the Jacobite cause during the 18th century. The title became extinct in 1747 after the death of the 5th Earl, as he had no male heirs.
