Tuberous Plants
Tuberous plants are those that store nutrients in tubers, which are swollen underground stems or roots. These tubers serve as a food reserve, allowing the plant to survive adverse conditions, such as drought or winter. Common examples of tuberous plants include potatoes and sweet potatoes, which are cultivated for their edible tubers.
In addition to their nutritional value, tuberous plants can also be used for ornamental purposes. Many flowering plants, like dahlias and gladiolus, produce tubers that can be planted to grow beautiful blooms. These plants are often favored in gardens for their vibrant colors and ease of care.
