Thutmose IV
Thutmose IV was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who ruled during the 18th Dynasty, around 1401-1391 BCE. He is best known for his efforts to restore the Great Sphinx of Giza and for his military campaigns in Syria and Nubia. Thutmose IV was the son of Thutmose III and became pharaoh after a brief co-regency with his father.
His reign is marked by significant building projects, including temples and monuments, which showcased the power and wealth of Egypt. Thutmose IV is also famous for the Dream Stele, which recounts a vision he had while resting near the Sphinx, claiming that the sun god Ra promised him the throne.
