Thomas Seymour
Thomas Seymour was an English nobleman and politician during the 16th century. He was born around 1508 and was the brother of Edward Seymour, the Duke of Somerset. Thomas served as a courtier and was known for his charm and ambition, which led him to seek power and influence in the court of King Henry VIII.
Seymour is perhaps best known for his marriage to Catherine Parr, the widow of Henry VIII, shortly after the king's death in 1547. His attempts to gain control over the young King Edward VI and his subsequent political maneuvers ultimately led to his downfall. In 1549, he was arrested and executed for treason.
