The Last King of France
The last king of France was Louis-Philippe I, who reigned from 1830 to 1848. He came to power after the July Revolution, which overthrew the Bourbon monarchy. Louis-Philippe was known as the "Citizen King" because he was a member of the Orléans branch of the royal family and had a more liberal approach compared to his predecessors.
His reign saw significant social and economic changes, but it also faced growing discontent among the working class and republicans. In February 1848, widespread protests led to his abdication, marking the end of the July Monarchy and the establishment of the Second French Republic.
