Takshashila
Takshashila, also known as Taxila, was an ancient city located in present-day Pakistan. It was a prominent center of learning and culture from around the 6th century BCE to the 5th century CE. Scholars from various regions, including India, Greece, and China, traveled to Takshashila to study subjects like philosophy, medicine, and mathematics.
The city was strategically situated along trade routes, which contributed to its prosperity and cultural exchange. Takshashila is often regarded as one of the earliest universities in the world, attracting notable figures such as the ancient physician Charaka and the philosopher Panini.
