Surgical Delivery
Surgical delivery, often referred to as a cesarean section or C-section, is a medical procedure used to deliver a baby through an incision in the mother's abdomen and uterus. This method is typically employed when a vaginal delivery poses risks to the mother or baby, such as in cases of fetal distress, breech presentation, or previous C-sections.
During the procedure, the mother is usually given anesthesia to minimize pain. The surgical team carefully makes incisions, delivers the baby, and then closes the incisions. Surgical delivery can be planned in advance or performed as an emergency procedure, ensuring the safety of both the mother and child.
