Spanish Ham
Spanish Ham, known as Jamón, is a traditional cured meat from Spain, primarily made from the hind leg of pigs. The two most famous types are Jamón Ibérico, made from the Iberian breed of pigs, and Jamón Serrano, made from white pigs. The curing process can take several months to years, resulting in a rich flavor and unique texture.
Jamón Ibérico is often considered a delicacy, especially when it comes from free-range pigs that feed on acorns. Jamón Serrano is more widely available and typically less expensive. Both types are enjoyed thinly sliced and served as part of various Spanish dishes or as a standalone snack.
