Southern Gas Corridor
The Southern Gas Corridor is a major energy project designed to transport natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to Europe. It aims to reduce European dependence on Russian gas by providing an alternative supply route. The corridor consists of several key pipelines, including the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
This corridor connects gas fields in Azerbaijan to European markets, enhancing energy security and diversification. It plays a crucial role in the European Union's strategy to promote sustainable energy sources and strengthen regional cooperation in energy supply.
