Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP)
The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) is a major energy project designed to transport natural gas from Azerbaijan to Turkey and further into Europe. It is a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which aims to diversify energy sources and reduce dependence on Russian gas. The pipeline stretches approximately 1,850 kilometers and was officially inaugurated in 2018.
TANAP connects with the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) in Greece, allowing gas to flow into Italy and other European markets. The project enhances energy security in the region and supports economic development by creating jobs and fostering international cooperation in energy supply.
