Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP)
The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a natural gas pipeline that transports gas from Azerbaijan to Italy. It is part of the larger Southern Gas Corridor, which aims to diversify energy sources for Europe and reduce dependence on Russian gas. The pipeline runs approximately 878 kilometers, crossing through Greece, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea before reaching Italy.
TAP is designed to carry up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. It connects with the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) in Greece, facilitating the flow of gas from the Shah Deniz gas field in Azerbaijan to European markets.
