Trans Adriatic Pipeline
The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) is a natural gas pipeline that runs from Azerbaijan to Italy. It is part of the larger Southern Gas Corridor, which aims to transport gas from the Caspian Sea region to Europe, reducing reliance on Russian gas. The pipeline stretches approximately 878 kilometers and was completed in 2020.
TAP connects with the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in Greece and then crosses the Adriatic Sea to reach Italy. This project enhances energy security in Europe and promotes diversification of energy sources, contributing to the region's economic stability and sustainability.
