Rhodesian dollar
The Rhodesian dollar was the currency used in Rhodesia, a former country in southern Africa that is now known as Zimbabwe. It was introduced in 1970, replacing the Rhodesian pound at a rate of one dollar for two pounds. The currency was issued by the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia and was used until 1980 when the country transitioned to the Zimbabwean dollar following independence.
The Rhodesian dollar was subdivided into 100 cents and was available in various denominations, including coins and banknotes. Due to economic challenges and hyperinflation, the currency eventually lost its value, leading to its discontinuation and replacement by the Zimbabwean dollar.
