Zimbabwean dollar
The Zimbabwean dollar is the official currency of Zimbabwe. It was first introduced in 1980, replacing the Rhodesian dollar. Over the years, the currency has undergone several changes and redenominations due to hyperinflation, which significantly devalued its worth.
In 2009, the use of the Zimbabwean dollar was suspended, and the country adopted foreign currencies like the US dollar and the South African rand for transactions. However, in 2019, the government reintroduced the Zimbabwean dollar, aiming to stabilize the economy and regain monetary sovereignty.
