Queen Isabella of France
Queen Isabella of France, born in 1295, was the daughter of King Philip IV of France and Queen Joan I of Navarre. She married King Edward II of England in 1308, strengthening the alliance between France and England. Isabella became known for her political influence and her role in the tumultuous events of her husband's reign.
Isabella is often remembered for her involvement in the overthrow of Edward II. In 1326, she returned to England with her lover, Roger Mortimer, and led a successful rebellion against Edward. This resulted in Edward's deposition and the rise of their son, King Edward III, to the throne.
