Queen Joan I of Navarre
Queen Joan I of Navarre was born in 1273 and became the queen regnant of the Kingdom of Navarre in 1305. She was the daughter of King Henry I of Navarre and his wife, Joan of France. Joan's reign was marked by her efforts to maintain the independence of Navarre amid the political tensions between the Kingdom of France and Castile.
In 1305, Joan married Philip IV of France, which strengthened ties between Navarre and France. However, her reign faced challenges, including conflicts over succession and territorial disputes. Joan I ruled until her death in 1349, leaving a significant legacy in the history of Navarre.
