Ptolemy VI Philometor
Ptolemy VI Philometor was a ruler of ancient Egypt from the Ptolemaic dynasty, reigning from 180 to 145 BCE. He was the son of Ptolemy V Epiphanes and Cleopatra I, and he became king at a young age. His reign was marked by political instability and conflicts, including struggles for power with his brother, Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II.
During his rule, Ptolemy VI faced challenges from both internal factions and external threats, particularly from the Seleucid Empire. He is known for his attempts to maintain Egypt's independence and for his involvement in various military campaigns. His reign ended with his death, after which Egypt experienced further turmoil.
