Ptolemy IV Philopator
Ptolemy IV Philopator was a ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom in ancient Egypt, reigning from 221 to 204 BCE. He was the son of Ptolemy III Euergetes and Berenice II. His reign is noted for the significant military victory at the Battle of Raphia against the Seleucid Empire, which helped to secure Egypt's borders.
Ptolemy IV is also known for his lavish lifestyle and patronage of the arts, but his rule faced challenges, including internal strife and economic difficulties. His reign ended with his death, leading to a power struggle among his successors, which weakened the kingdom.
