Berenice II
Berenice II was a queen of ancient Egypt who lived during the 3rd century BCE. She was the daughter of Ptolemy III Euergetes and Berenice I, and she became the wife of Ptolemy IV Philopator. Berenice II is known for her beauty and intelligence, as well as her significant role in the political landscape of the Ptolemaic dynasty.
Berenice II is also famous for her connection to the Constellation Coma Berenices, which was named in her honor. According to legend, she dedicated her hair to the goddess Aphrodite for her husband's safe return from war, and the hair was said to have been transformed into stars.
