Prochaska's Stages of Change
Prochaska's Stages of Change is a model that outlines the process individuals go through when modifying behavior. It consists of five stages: Precontemplation, where a person is not yet considering change; Contemplation, where they start thinking about it; Preparation, where they plan for change; Action, where they actively make changes; and Maintenance, where they work to sustain those changes.
This model is often used in health and wellness fields to help people overcome issues like smoking, dietary habits, or exercise routines. Understanding these stages can assist individuals and professionals in tailoring interventions to support successful behavior change.
