Princess Ulrika Eleonora
Princess Ulrika Eleonora was born on January 23, 1688, in Stockholm, Sweden. She was the daughter of King Charles XI and Queen Ulrika Eleonora the Elder. In 1715, she married Duke Frederick of Holstein-Gottorp, becoming the Duchess of Holstein-Gottorp.
Ulrika Eleonora was known for her strong character and intelligence. After her brother, King Charles XII, died in 1718, she became a significant figure in Swedish politics. In 1719, she was elected as the Queen regnant of Sweden, but she abdicated in favor of her husband in 1720, becoming a queen consort instead.
