Queen Christina
Queen Christina of Sweden was born on December 18, 1626, and became queen regnant at the age of six after her father, King Gustavus Adolphus, died in battle. She ruled from 1632 until her abdication in 1654, known for her intelligence and patronage of the arts, which helped foster the Swedish Golden Age.
Christina was unconventional for her time, often defying gender norms and showing interest in philosophy and literature. In 1654, she abdicated the throne, converting to Catholicism and moving to Rome, where she became a prominent figure in the cultural and intellectual circles of Europe.
