Charles XI of Sweden
Charles XI of Sweden was a king who reigned from 1660 to 1697. He was born on November 24, 1655, and became king at a young age after the death of his father, Charles X Gustav. His reign is noted for significant reforms in the military and administration, which strengthened the central authority of the monarchy.
During his rule, Charles XI focused on consolidating power and improving the economy. He implemented a series of policies known as the Great Reduction, which aimed to reclaim land from the nobility to increase royal revenues. His efforts laid the groundwork for a more centralized state in Sweden.
