Princess Maria of Anhalt-Dessau was born on July 14, 1706, in Dessau, Germany. She was a member of the {House of Anhalt} and the daughter of {Prince Leopold I of Anhalt-Dessau}. Maria is known for her role in the cultural and social life of her time, contributing to the arts and education in her region. In 1727, she married {Prince Karl of Anhalt-Köthen}, strengthening the ties between the two principalities.
