Princess Maria Isabel of Brazil
Princess Maria Isabel of Brazil was born on July 21, 1846, as the daughter of Emperor Pedro II of Brazil and Empress Teresa Cristina. She was a member of the Brazilian imperial family and played a significant role in the cultural and social life of Brazil during the 19th century.
Maria Isabel was known for her education and artistic talents, particularly in music and painting. She was engaged to Prince Gaston of Orléans, but the marriage did not take place. After the abolition of the monarchy in 1889, she lived in exile in Europe until her death on September 14, 1921.
