Teresa Cristina
Teresa Cristina was a Portuguese princess born on April 2, 1822. She became the Empress of Brazil by marrying Dom Pedro II, the second emperor of Brazil, in 1843. Teresa Cristina played a significant role in the cultural and social life of the Brazilian court and was known for her dedication to the arts and education.
As empress, she supported various charitable initiatives and was involved in the promotion of Brazilian culture. Teresa Cristina was also a mother to four children, contributing to the royal lineage. She remained in Brazil until her death on December 28, 1889, shortly after the monarchy was abolished.
