Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark was born on May 11, 1904, in Athens, Greece. She was the daughter of King Constantine I of Greece and Queen Sophia of Greece. Irene belonged to the Greek royal family and was also a member of the Danish royal family through her father’s lineage.
Irene spent much of her early life in Greece and later moved to Italy after the Greek monarchy was abolished. She married Prince Christopher of Greece in 1934, and they had three children. Princess Irene was known for her charitable work and dedication to various social causes throughout her life.
