Pole beans
Pole beans are a type of climbing bean that grow vertically, using support structures like trellises or poles. They belong to the Phaseolus vulgaris species and are known for their long, slender pods. These beans are typically planted in warm weather and thrive in well-drained soil with plenty of sunlight.
Unlike bush beans, which grow low to the ground, pole beans can reach heights of 6 to 10 feet. They are often more productive than bush varieties, as they can produce beans over a longer period. Common types include Kentucky Wonder and Blue Lake, both popular among gardeners for their flavor and yield.
