Pamiri community
The Pamiri community is an ethnic group primarily found in the Pamirs, a mountain range in Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. They are known for their unique language, Shughni, and rich cultural traditions, which include music, dance, and intricate handicrafts. The Pamiris are predominantly Ismaili Muslims, following the teachings of the Aga Khan.
Historically, the Pamiri people have lived in isolated villages, which has helped preserve their distinct customs and lifestyle. Agriculture and animal husbandry are central to their economy, with many families relying on farming and livestock for sustenance. The community values education and has made efforts to improve access to schooling in recent years.
