Pamiri
The Pamiri people are an ethnic group primarily found in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan, as well as parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and China. They speak the Pamiri languages, which belong to the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian languages. The Pamiri are known for their rich cultural heritage, including unique traditions, music, and crafts.
The majority of Pamiris practice Ismaili Islam, a branch of Shia Islam led by the Aga Khan. Their communities are often characterized by strong social ties and a deep connection to their mountainous environment. Agriculture and livestock herding are common livelihoods, reflecting their adaptation to the challenging terrain.
